Alison attended art school for four years in the '80s where she specialised in Fashion and Textiles. Her work has evolved into many forms over the years. Alison had initially trained in woven textiles and started out weaving decorative trimmings for both fashion and interiors. The trims appealed to her love of small things as they were tiny and intricate. The trims were sold off the roll through V V Rouleaux in London. Clients included Nicole Farhi and Marc Jacobs New York. They were featured in many different journals such as Elle, World of Interiors, Elle Decoration and Saturday Telegraph magazine. Following a change in direction Alison began to look at stitching, both hand and by machine, and that is how she has arrived where she is now. Today, she illustrates, creates, sews, and write books. One of her amazing books is Stitch 50 Dogs, where you’ll find patterns to sew cute dog brooches, bag charms and accessories.
