The 2019 edition of Knit Your Own Nativity Kit is on sale now, so you can knit a traditional Nativity scene in time for Christmas. Or if you know a Christmas-mad knitter, then it’s the perfect gift! Inside the bumper kit you’ll get the yarn, needles and patterns to knit Mary, Joseph and Jesus in his manger. Also included in the full-colour, 16-page pattern booklet are the patterns to knit the angel, three kings, shepherds, sheep, donkey and a star. Before you start to knit, make sure you know which shade is referenced in each pattern with the guide below.
Please note, yarn shades shown here or in your kit may differ slightly to pattern booklet due to printing processes.
We’ve also created a downloadable pattern for a stable to go with the Nativity scene, which you can print out. Click the link here: Knitted Nativity Stable Instructions PDF
It’s best if you can print directly onto sheets of card, although you could always print onto paper and then stick the paper onto card if you prefer. It’s also important that you set your printer to print at ‘Actual size’ or ‘100%’.
Each sheet of the template is labelled from A to I, and the instructions refer to these letters to make things nice and easy!
To make the stable you will need:
• Sheets of card that will fit in your printer
• Craft knife
• Cutting mat
• Metal ruler
• Glue or double-sided sticky tape
