At the start of Slipper 1, after casting on with yarn B and joining into the round, you should then join in a second strand of yarn B, not yarn A as written.

Guelder Rose

The pattern says to begin working Chart B from Round 1, but there’s actually a set-up round that should be worked first.

BEGIN MAIN PATTERN
Rnd 1: (Work round 1 of Chart A, K8) 2 (3:3:3:4) times, work round 1 of Chart A, P9 (4:9:9:4), work set-up rnd of Chart B over next 36 (36:36:46:46) sts, P9 (4:9:9:4), (work round 1 of Chart A, K8) 2 (3:3:3:4) times, work round 1 of Chart A, pm, K8, *work round 1 of Chart A, K8; rep from * to end of round.

The same goes for the other side, so end on a WS row after working the neck shaping on the left hand side of the back when it says to work to 33 (37:41)cm, then switch around the every RS row and every WS row at the beginning of the Back Left Hand Side section.

Town Square Shawl

Please be aware of the symbols in row 5 of the chart which look like K2tog, yo and K3tog. In hindisight this chart is a little confusing as the symbols in this row also mean something else – see the bottom of the key – and it might have been clearer if we had used different symbols in this case. There is a border around the 3 symbols together in the chart but you could be forgiven for missing that.

So the 3 symbols before and after the repeat, which look like K2tog, yo, K2tog, are actually ‘K2 into 3” which is worked as thus: K2tog without removing sts from left needle, yo, then work same 2 sts K2tog again, and remove sts from needle. 3 sts made from 2 sts.

The 3 symbols in the repeat, which look like K3tog, yo, K3tog, are actually “K3 into 3” which is worked as thus: K3tog without removing sts from left needle, yo, then work same 3 sts K3tog again, and remove sts from needle. 3 sts made from 3 sts.

Sloane Square Cushion

When working C30F in rib, it may look as though the remaining sts after the sts on the cable are to be worked ‘as seen’ – ie (P2, K2) 4 times, however the rib on this section is actually ‘reset’ and hidden behind the cable, so it should be worked as printed in the magazine.

The yarn suggested should be Islington 4ply, not DK.

Caradoc

The sleeve lengths given in inches are wrong. They should be 19.5 (19.5: 19.25: 18.75: 18.5)in

Shawl collar: Two sets of measurements are given in the collar, and there should have been a note about an optional wider collar as follows:

Row 1 (WS) *K1, P1; rep from * to last st, K1. Row 2 (RS): *P1, K1; rep from * to last st, P1.

For a collar as per the sample: Cont in rib as set until collar measures 12 (12:13:14:16) cm from pick-up, ending after a WS row.

For an optional wider collar: Rep last 2 rows until collar measures 6 (6:7:7:8) cm from pick-up, ending after a WS row. Working inc sts into patt, cont as foll: Inc row (RS): Patt to mrk, slm, M1, patt to mrk, M1, slm, patt to end. 2 sts inc’d. Work 3 rows in patt. Rep last 4 rows three times more. 155 (161:167:175:181) sts.

For both collars: Work short rows as printed.

Sweet Chestnut

Please ignore the UK shoe sizes given and go by the actual foot length given.

Sissinghurst

The name Sissinghurst incorrectly appeared above the chart for Rosemoor, for which the corrections are below.

Sleeves

The way the panel pattern is written for the beginning of the sleeves might be confusing to some, if you are having trouble with it then work as below:

Row 1 (RS) K1, *yo, (K1, P1) 7 times, K1, yo, K1; rep from * to end.

Row 2 K1, *P2, (K1, P1) 7 times, P1, K1; rep from * to end.

Row 3 K2, yo (K1, P1) 7 times, K1, yo, K2.

Row 4 K2, P2, (K1, P1) 7 times, P1, K2.

Row 5 K3, yo, (K1, P1) 7 times, K1, yo, K3.

Row 6 K3, P2, (K1, P1) 7 times, P1, K3.

Row 7 K4, yo, (K1, P1) 7 times, K1, yo, K4.

Row 8 K4 ,P2, (K1, P1) 7 times, P1, K4.

Row 9 K5, (Sl 1, K1, psso) 3 times, Sl 1, K2tog, psso, (K2tog) 3 times, K5.

Row 10 Purl.

Rosemoor

A couple of corrections to the chart – Row 2 is missing a stitch, which might go un-noticed if you’re following the chart, as the instruction is still to yo, p2tog, work to last 2 sts, p2tog, yo.

Row 3 should end with K2, not K1.

Row 7 is missing a yo which should be on st 9.

Islay

Suggested ‘to fit’ bust sizes should be 87 (91: 96: 100: 105: 109: 114)cm / 34.25 (35.75: 37.75: 39.25: 41.25: 43: 45)in – by suggesting standard UK sizing it meant there was less ease as the garment got larger.

Hestercombe

On the T2B in the key the ktbl symbol should be in the right-most column and the purl symbol should be in the left, and the other way around for the T2F.

The instructions for the stitches are still correct in the Special Stitches section, so ignore the symbols behind the lines and refer to the lean of the twist and the definition in the Special Stitches section, as those are the only 2-stitch twists.

Purl 1 row, knit 1 row, purl 1 row. Cast off knit wise.

Wisley Blanket

A few mistakes crept into this subscriber-only pattern when we published an older version. The corrections are as follows:

Issue 85

Square 1 Rows 1 and 3 end with K1.

Issue 87

Square 5 Row 3: K3, K2tog, yo, *K4, yo, s2kpo, yo; rep from * to last 9 sts.

Square 6 Row 1: K3, *yo, K1, s2kpo, K1, yo, K1; rep from * to last 2 sts, K2.

Roehampton

Apologies, we published the wrong chart and chart placement instructions in this pattern. The paragraph underneath ‘Commence Chart’ should read as follows: Change to 4mm needles. Commence Body Chart, working the 13-st repeat five times across the row and working the 12-row rep as set throughout, cont until work meas 32 (33:33:34:34:35:35:36) cm from cast-on edge, ending with a WS row.

The corrected chart can be downloaded here. The red lines on this corrected copy indicate where to begin and end the sleeves, and the green lines indicate where to begin and end for front/back for each size.

Daisy Chain Wrap

The two ‘M1’s in Row 1 of Chart A throw the stitch count off. Skip these on this row.

Currach Cushion

There should be a repeat box around sts 1-51 of the chart, then stitch 52 will be the last st worked after you have worked 3 repeats. Rows 2 and 3  of the written instructions should read as folls: Row 2: *(P1, K1) 5 times, P3, K5, P6, K5, P3, (K1, P1) 4 times, K1; rep from * to last st, P1. Row 3: *(P1, K1) 4 times, T5B, inc 3 (makes 1 into 3), P4, K6, P4, inc3, T5F, (K1, P1) 3 times, K1; rep from * to last st, P1.

Time for Tea

A few errors were found in this chart and have been corrected by the designer, Emma Vining. The corrected chart can be downloaded here.

On row 3 of the Back, the amount of reps for the 4th size should be 3, not 4.

On rows 32 and 33, and 41 and 42 of the chart, stitch 9 should be worked in yarn A. Also in the neck edging section, the instructions are to knit across holders for the back and front necks.  These sts will have already been cast off so the instruction should be to pick up and knit.

Cressida

After the Shape Armholes on the Back, the stitch count should be 115 for the size S, not 105.

When working the Cable pattern, if there are not enough sts left at the end of the row to work a cable or both a yarn-over and it’s balanced K2tog/SSK, work the rem sts in rib. The cable on row 20 of the Chart should be worked on Row 19. Row 20 should be worked in rib.

Sargasso

Row 13 should read: K26 (29:31:34:36:39:41:44)  P2, K1, *insert needle under strand and knit next st, K5; rep from * to last 4 sts of panel, knit under last loose strand, K1, P2, K26 (29:31:34:36:39:41:44). After repeating Rows 7-14 twice, work rows 5-6 once more, then work rows 1-2 twice more.

When following the chart for the lace borders, the white “K on RS…. ” square represents the fair isle chart and there should be a note saying all WS rows should be worked as knit on the lace chart.

Sorry, we missed out a round in this pattern explaining what to do with the subsequent travel rounds, after the first one when the markers are placed:

Set up Travel round M1L, pm(A), work Chart, slm(B), SSK, knit to end of round.

Straight round K to marker, slm(A), work Chart, slm(B), knit to end of round.

All following travel rounds K to marker, M1L, slm(A), work Chart, slm(B), SSK, knit to end of round.

Essex

There’s a mistake in the colourwork chart: the first stitch in row 7 should be Yarn C.

Romy

There is an error with the chart, in that the red repeat boxes are incorrectly placed.

For Size S the red box should be surrounding sts 13-36.

For Sizes M, L, XL, it should be surrounding sts 15-40.
