Looking for a Halloween bake that’s more cute than creepy? These peanut butter spider cookies are topped with mini Reese’s cups and chocolate legs to create adorable chocolatey spiders. They’re easy to make, totally moreish, and look so fun!

Ingredients

  • 125g SKIPPY® Peanut Butter Extra Smooth
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 210g flour
  • 110g butter
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 30 milk chocolate and peanut butter miniature cups (eg Reese’s) (unwrapped)
  • 150g cooking chocolate (melted)
  • edible eyes

Method

  • Step 1

    Heat oven to 180°C. In a bowl, combine flour and baking soda

  • Step 2

    In a large bowl, mix together SKIPPY® Peanut Butter and butter until smooth. Mix in 90g sugar, beaten egg and vanilla until blended. Stir in flour mixture until blended. Shape dough into 30 balls

  • Step 3

    Place 10g sugar for rolling in small bowl. Roll dough balls in sugar and place 2 inches apart on greaseproof paper-lined baking tray

  • Step 4

    Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are light brown. Immediately press one chocolate peanut butter cup in centre of cookie. Remove to wire rack. Allow to cool.

  • Step 5

    Spoon cooking chocolate into a piping bag. Pipe 8 lines for spider legs around the peanut butter cup; pipe 2 small dabs of chocolate on the chocolate peanut butter cup and attached 2 candies for eyeballs

  • Step 6

    Repeat decorating steps with remaining cookies.
