Monica Fuertes

Monica founded theHandMadeAwards for everyone who loves to make their own toys. Her mother, Loly Fuertes is and expert knitter and together she and Monika are the HandMadeAwards team. Their work can be found online on Etsy through the HandMadeAwards and The Cup of Tea shops and on Ravelry. Monika designed toys for several years for two magazines (based in San Francisco, USA) – Knitting Today! and Crochet Today! and she now designs for Simply Knitting Magazine (UK). Born in Santander, Spain, she grew up in a big home near the beach with her loving family. She studied Applied Arts and is an interior architect. Monika loves watching vintage black and white Hollywood movies into the night and she collects colorful skeins yarns, vintage ribbons and other lovely things for crafting.
