Notes
The frosting (i.e. top of the donut pillow) is made with 2 strands of yarn. When changing yarn colour, don't worry if it seems a bit loose; you just need to pull the back of the yarn on the wrong side if that happens.
Once the frosting is completed, we will tie a knot at the back to secure it. If you're struggling with this, you can always check out our how to join yarn and change colours in crochet tutorial.

Assembling your donut cushion
Step 1
On the wrong side of the frosting, tie a knot between the yarn colour changes to secure the stitch.

Step 2
Using leftover colourful yarns, sew the sprinkles randomly on one half of the donut frosting.

Step 3
Place the wrong sides of your donut cushion together. Place the base in the centre of the holes of the frosting. Using whip stitch, sew both pieces together, working through the foundation chain of the base and round 1of the frosting, also sew the last round of both the base and frosting pieces together

Step 4
Stuff well with polyester stuffing to the desired stiffness. Weave in all ends.

You can never have too many donut cushions!
Now that you know how to crochet a donut pillow, why stop at just one? Kids will love playing with them, and they make great outdoor cushions for summer (just remember to take them back inside).
So why not make a range of them in different colours, or try getting creative and adding more of those tasty sprinkles!
