Free hat and cowl set knitting pattern
Need a gift fast? Knit Rosee Woodland’s super-chunky hat and cowl set in a weekend!

Gift knitting often ends in a rush of casting off and weaving in ends. Happily, you can knit this hat and cowl in an evening each, leaving plenty of time for celebrating. Designed by Rosee Woodland for Knit Today issue 122, they would make a great last-minute present – or knit them as a treat for yourself!
There's a rib stitch hat with a jumbo pompom, and a brioche stitch cowl, both knitted in Wool and the Gang's super-chunky Crazy Sexy Wool. You'll need one ball for the hat, and another ball for the cowl. We’ve used the monochrome colourway TV Static, but there are dozens to choose from in the range, from bold brights to timeless neutrals.
If you haven’t tried working in the round before, this is a great project to introduce you to the technique, as the super-chunky yarn means it’s easy to see what you’re doing. Just take care not to twist your stitches when you cast on!
You will need:
Wool and the Gang, Crazy Sexy Wool (100% wool, 80m/200g), 2 balls of TV Static
A set of 12mm 40cm or 60cm circular knitting needles
