The Great British Bake Off is back! Watch the trailer for the new series

Attention baking fans! Channel 4 has confirmed the return of The Great British Bake Off, and a new, quirky trailer is here to tease what’s to come.

We’ve missed this beloved show brightening our week and watching talented contestants battle it out for the prestigious title of Star Baker.

Luckily, the wait for more of this wholesome and mouth-watering content is nearly over. Although we don't know when the first episode will air yet, with the release of the trailer, we can assume it's soon.

The charming animated trailer, shared on Wednesday the 13th of August, cleverly illustrates the show’s journey using depictions of classic baking ingredients and baked goods, with references to the Big Bang and evolution. It also features animated versions of audience favourites, Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond, confirming that this hilarious duo will be back as the show's hosts.

The trailer ends as we zoom out of this whimsical, animated reality, through Paul Hollywood's smouldering, blue-eyed gaze, and into the baking tent. Prue Leith wasn't by his side in the shot, but Channel 4 has said that she, too, will be returning to judge alongside Paul.

We can't wait to see both of their faces on our screens again and find out which lucky contestants will receive the famous Paul Hollywood handshake this year.
