Tom Daley launches new crochet and embroidery kits and they're adorable
Olympic gold medallist Tom Daley has launched a new range of crochet and embroidery kits exclusively at Hobbycraft. The Made With Love collection, available from today (2nd October), is aimed at both beginners and experienced crafters.
Daley said: “Crafting has been such a big part of my life in recent years – it’s my way to relax and express myself. That’s why I’m so excited to be launching this brand new Made With Love range exclusively at Hobbycraft. The collection has been created to inspire creativity while giving makers the chance to add their own fun, quirky touch to their projects. I can’t wait to see what people make with these new products.”
Tom Daley’s craft kits have been released just ahead of World Mental Health Day, which is on 10th October, with studies showing that crafting can bring a range of wellbeing benefits.
Hobbycraft’s recent Power of Making Report, in partnership with mental health charity Mind, revealed that over half of survey respondents (53%) who take part in crafting say that it improves their mood, and 59% feel a real sense of achievement from crafting. Other reported benefits to crafting include improved general well-being (48%), reduced stress (48%), less screen time (46%), boosted confidence (21%) and social connection (14%).

There are 11 kits in the Made With Love by Tom Daley collection, each reflecting Tom’s love of yarn crafts with a playful animal and fruit-inspired twist. The range includes crochet kits to make dogs, zebras and giraffes, alongside positive slogan embroidery designs and quirky iron-on patches.
