Find the perfect blender fabric for your quilting projects with the Liberty Emily Belle collection
From a 1940s artwork to a modern day quilting essential, Emily Belle has become a true Liberty legend. Discovered in the design house’s renowned 60,000-strong archive, the design has grown into one of Liberty’s most recognisable and cherished crafting classics, our equivalent in the quilting world to the beloved Betsy or Poppy & Daisy on Tana Lawn™ cotton. Emily Belle is a design that our makers reach for instinctively again and again, and over time, the pattern has become an emblem for Liberty crafting.

Emily Belle's heritage
Capturing the beauty of an English garden in bloom, Emily Belle as we know it, has been on a journey through many iterations. The earliest version, Geum Daisy, began as a print impression of a delicate study of garden flowers – daisies, marguerites, peonies, and cornflowers – rendered in the fine, loosely sketched linework that has long defined Liberty’s distinctive handwriting.

Resurfacing in 1995 as Morisia and again in 2006 as Emily, the design has emerged over different decades in exciting new palettes, scales, and creative contexts, showcasing the versatility of this unmistakably Liberty icon. By the mid-2010s, the design took on international recognition, where it appeared in various iterations for Japan and the UAE!

Designed as a blender fabric to create breathing space between busier, more vibrant prints and to help harmonise the visual rhythm of a quilt, Emily Belle can also be the perfect standalone print. Depicted in an array of colourways, all created to bring beloved botanical fabrics into the world of crafting, this signature Liberty design ensures any project feels instantly refined, cohesive, and effortlessly ‘Liberty’.
Emily Belle in 2025
For 2025, Emily Belle appears in a spectrum of 42 colourways, each one carefully honed to reflect the Liberty crafting palette. Designed by Liberty’s in-house studio who design specifically for crafting, soft pastels and classic bright hues are complemented with deep, atmospheric tones and beautiful neutrals. The collection range can be used for a seamless mix-and-match effect (making it a fantastic blender fabric) or to create an entire Emily Belle project.
Each colourway is traditionally screen-printed at the Liberty Italian fabric mill located near Lake Como, where traditional techniques are met with cutting-edge innovation. Emily Belle is printed on Liberty’s Lasenby cotton, a 100% cotton designed specifically for crafting and suitable for a range of creative home projects, which brings the design’s hand-drawn, fine lines to life. Slightly heavier than its cotton companion, Tana Lawn™ cotton, Lasenby cotton weighs 146 grams per square meter, making it very stable and perfect for quilting, enhanced due to its durable and machine-washable properties.
Available to purchase by the metre or precut in 5” squares, fat quarters, or jelly rolls, Emily Belle is a wonderful blender fabric, perfect for expert quilters and beginners alike.
