Animal Amigurumi Adventures Volume 2: Review
This new crochet pattern book follows on from Volume 1 of Animal Amigurumi Adventures and brings you another 15 fabulous animal amigurumi patterns.
Each project is accompanied by clear colour photos and helpful step-by-step images and instructions on particularly tricky bits. The animals in Volume 2 are separated into three categories; Safari animals, Arctic animals and Pets.
You’ll be able to hook super-cute characters such as an elegant elephant and a gorgeous giraffe, a precious polar bear and a wonderful walrus, as well as a cool chameleon and a delightful dog!
Lauren is an expert in creating amigurumi designs that have that super-cute factor, which appears in abundance in this book.
We’ve got a bit of a soft spot for the chubby walrus, and the sweet little guinea pig is just too cute. But our favourite has got to be the super-adorable lion – it would make an amazing gift for a little one!
Each of the designs works up to an average of 7-10 inches in size, making them the perfect size for children to play with (and adults too of course).
Who is Animal Amigurumi Adventures Volume 2 suitable for?
You’ll often come across amigurumi books that claim to be suitable for beginners, but in reality, amigurumi patterns can be a bit intimidating if you’ve never picked up a hook before.
However, we’re pleased to tell you that we do genuinely think this book (as well as volume 1) is suitable for crocheters of all abilities, even completely new ones! This is largely thanks to the clear and detailed stitch guides. Every stitch used in this book has an accompanying step-by-step illustrated guide with written instructions, so you always have a point of reference if you get stuck.
The patterns also include step-by-step photos for parts that benefit from a visual representation, especially for tricky bits or projects that require assembly. Plus you can find handy video guides to every stitch on amenagerieofstitches.com.
It’s worth pointing out that this pattern book is written using US terminology, which can confuse relatively new UK crocheters.
If you’re completely new to crochet then as long as you follow the instructions and guide in the book then it won’t be a problem. However you can always refer to our crochet abbreviations and conversions guide if you’re more familiar with UK terms.
