Welcome the spring with this delightful floral corsage! Our free pattern uses a single skein of multi-coloured sock yarn, so it’s a great way to use up those odd balls that we all have in our yarn basket.
The petals are knitted, then sewn in half with a length of memory wire inside, to help them keep their shape. Once all the petals are sewn together, the corsage is washed on a hot wash to felt it, then finished with buttons and a brooch pin.

Finishing your corsage
Cut lengths of memory wire 2cm longer than each petal. Fold the petal in half length-ways, place two lengths of memory wire flat into the petal and sew the seam closed, making sure the wire is sticking out of the petal.
Lay the petal flat and push the seam over so it sits at the centre back of the petal. When all the petals have been made, lay the large petal down flat and pin together into a flower shape, using the same yarn sew these five petals together. Repeat this with the smaller petals, so you will have three flower shapes all together.
Place the two smaller flowers shapes on top of the large flower, pin and sew in place.
Weave in loose ends. Wash the flower in the washing machine on a hot wash to felt it.
Re-shape the petals, trim the wires.
Sew the three centre buttons in place. Sew a small circle of felt onto the centre back of the flower and attach the brooch back to the felt.
