Patons Diploma Gold DK (55% wool, 20% nylon, 25% acrylic, 50g/120m), 1 ball each of Cream (6142) and Blue (6220)

A pair of 3¾mm knitting needles

Matching narrow ribbon

Small pearl beads

Shell heart-shaped beads

Blunt-ended sewing needle for threading ribbon

Val Pierce is a very influential and respected craft designer who has published more than 25 books of her knitting and crochet designs. They range from Knitted and crochet toys to Knitted baby clothes and her two latest books, 20 to knit Dressed up Bears and 100 Essential Crochet Stitches. Val's passion for knitting and crochet began as a little girl when she used to sit and watch her mother knit. At age five her Dad taught her to knit and she has been doing needlework every day since then, spending all her pocket money on yarn. Later on she began model testing for yarn manufacturers, then progressing to creating her own patterns which were published in knitting magazines to establish her name as a designer, going on to publish her first book. All of Val's books can be seen on Amazon and in multiple book sellers. She has a website at crossedneedles.co.uk which displays some of her designs and a Facebook page at crossedneedles which tells of her latest creations and features free patterns for folks to enjoy.
