Yoga teacher reveals 12 surprising poses that will transform your sex life

We all experience peaks and troughs when it comes to our sex lives. You'll have periods where you and your partner can't keep your hands off each other. Then, at other times, there's less connection in the bedroom, whether that's because your feeling burnt out, or maybe because you're feeling less confident in your own skin.

Whatever the reason, it's only natural. But if you're missing physical intimacy, there's a surprising solution that can give your libido a boost: yoga.

Below, OhMy!Gasm and Gemma Nice, yoga teacher and award-winning sex and relationship expert, reveal the 12 yoga poses you should include in your daily routine to enjoy better sex.

With these poses promoting relaxation, increasing blood flow and strengthening key muscle groups, they'll make you feel amazing and can help get your sex life back on track.

Why does yoga help sex and intimacy?

Gemma explains that “Modern life keeps many of us in a state of stress, raising cortisol levels and reducing libido. Practicing yoga helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system—your 'rest and digest' mode—allowing you to stay calm and present. Certain poses, such as Child’s Pose, help lower stress by positioning the head below the heart, making it easier for the body to relax.”

“Also, yoga improves pelvic flexibility and strengthens the pelvic floor muscles, which directly contributes to stronger orgasms. Increased movement and blood circulation to the genital area also heighten nerve sensitivity, intensifying sensations and pleasure.”

“Regular yoga practice enhances stamina and endurance, making it easier to engage in longer and more fulfilling intimate experiences. Breathwork, a core component of yoga, trains the body to stay present and can be particularly beneficial for individuals dealing with erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation. Techniques like edging, where one brings themselves close to orgasm and then backs off before climax, can be enhanced through mindful breathing.

“When the body is in a high-stress state, blood flow moves away from the genitals and towards vital organs. Yoga counteracts this, increasing circulation to the reproductive organs and boosting arousal naturally.”
