2. Wedding cross stitch cards set

This romantic set of free wedding cross stitch patterns by Rhona Norrie contains whole stitches, backstitch and some French Knots – though if you're not confident stitching these you can swap them for seed beads for a lovely textured finishing touch.

Each design is a maximum of 60 stitches high x 60 stitches wide. You'll need an 11x11cm (4¼x4¼in) piece of 14 count aida (or 28-count evenweave) for each pattern. We've stitched these designs using DMC stranded cotton but the key also includes Anchor and Madeira thread shades so you can pick your favourite brand.

5. Engagement and wedding anniversary card pattern

It would also look lovely mounted on a gift or jewellery box like in the photo if you wanted to make something extra special. To do this patch your finished stitching onto a box with double-sided tape and white backing paper to avoid show-through.

This cross stitch chart measures 33 stitches high x 37 stitches wide. To stitch it you'll need a piece of 14 count aida (or 28-count evenweave) to measure 6x6.5cm (2¼x2¾in).

This design was stitched using DMC stranded cotton but the key includes thread codes for Anchor and Madeira threads too.
