Try these easy bird cards:

1. Bless this nest

Step 1

Cover the front of a 15cm square top-folding kraft card with a piece of slightly smaller brown card. Trim a square of feather paper, distress the edges then stick onto the top-right corner.

Step 2

Trim a 14cm square of cream card. Ink the edges with brown ink. Pat ink on an acrylic block, add water and splatter over the cream card. Leave to dry thoroughly, then distress the edges.

Step 3

Fussy cut a tree, bird and bird’s eggs, and attach on the cream card. Secure the panel to the card front, peeling away the top-right corner to reveal the feather paper underneath.

Step 4

Ink and distress the edges of a 3.5x14cm piece of feather paper and secure across the bottom of the card. Attach a length of suede cord across the paper and a bow on the left-hand side.

Step 5

Fussy cut a birdhouse then die cut a small hole where the circle is. Attach a bird behind it. Trim a sentiment, punch holes in the top and thread through. Attach to the birdhouse with a brad.

Step 6

Attach the birdhouse to the right-hand side with sticky foam pads. Fussy cut a bird and attach to the birdhouse above the sentiment. Fussy cut a feather and attach in the top-right corner.

Step 7

Fussy cut flowers and leaves and attach. Peel back the cream card at the top and tuck a flower behind it. Thread a pinecone onto thin jute, tie in a bow and attach on top of the other bow.

2. Double Dutch card

  1. Using the double dutch card template as a guide, draw, cut out, score and fold a kraft card blank. Attach a 14cm square of wood-effect paper inside. Attach a 6.5 x 13.5cm piece of green card to the top panel and two 6.5cm green square pieces to the side panels.
  2. Distress the edges of a 6 x 13cm piece of feather paper and secure to the top. Ink and distress two 6cm squares of feather paper and attach to the side panels.
  3. Cut the nest sentiment into a circle and layer on a larger circle. Fussy cut another nest sentiment and attach on top.
  4. Fussy cut a bird and birdhouse. Cut a hole through the top of the house and attach a bird behind. Attach both to the nest.
  5. Fussy cut flowers and leaves and attach around the nest. Attach a pinecone and a length of cord across the wood-effect paper.

3. Birthday tweetings

The wood-effect paper is ideal for creating a 3D birdhouse card. Hang a sentiment on thin jute then attach to the roof with a faux suede cord bow. Complete the house with a bird peeking into the birdhouse entrance. Download your free birdhouse card template to make this card!
