Free Crochet Easter Egg Decoration Patterns
Get ready for some Easter crochet with our free Easter Egg crochet patterns, with three different ways of decorating them!

Mix up the motifs with stripy, spotty and flower-bedecked Easter egg creations designed by Becky Skuse. They make fantastic decorations for if you’re having an Easter party, or why try using them for a chocolate-free easter egg hunt with the kids!
You will need:
- Stylecraft Classique Cotton 4ply (100% cotton, 50g/182m), 1 ball of each:
- Fondant (3094) – Pink
Sunflower (3662) – Yellow
Soft Lime (3663) – Green
Sky Blue (3667) – Blue
Lavender (3673) – Purple - A 3mm (US C/2) hook
- Small amount of toy stuffing

Tension is not critical, but may affect yarn quantities required
Abbreviations

Measurements
Egg is approx 6cm (2½in) tall
Notes
Eggs are worked from the base up. Each Egg uses approx 5g of yarn. Each Flower uses less than 1g of yarn. Each Stripe and Spot uses a small scrap of yarn.
Crochet Egg Pattern
Using 3mm hook and yarn specified, make a crochet magic loop.
Round 1 (RS) Ch1 (does not count as a stitch throughout), 6dc into loop, ss to beg dc. [6 dc]
Round 2 Ch1, 2dc into each dc around, ss to beg dc. [12 dc]
Round 3 Ch1, (dc in next dc, 2dc in next dc) 6 times, ss to beg dc. [18 dc]
Round 4 Ch1, (dc in next 2 dc, 2dc in next dc) 6 times, ss to beg dc. [24 dc]
Round 5 Ch1, (dc in next 3 dc, 2dc in next dc) 6 times, ss to beg dc. [30 dc]
Rounds 6-10 Ch1, dc in each dc around, ss to beg dc.
Round 11 Ch1, (dc in next 13 dc, dc2tog) twice, ss to beg dc. [28 dc]
Round 12 Ch1, dc in next 5 dc, (dc2tog), dc in each of the next 12 dc, (dc2tog), dc in each of the next 7 dc, ss to beg dc. [26 dc]
Round 13 Ch1, (dc in next 11 dc, dc2tog) twice, ss to beg dc. [24 dc]
Round 14 As Round 6.
Round 15 Ch1, dc in next 4 dc, (dc2tog), dc in next 10 dc, (dc2tog), dc in next 6 dc, ss to beg dc. [22 dc]
Round 16 Ch1, (dc in next 9 dc, dc2tog) twice, ss to first dc. [20 dc]
Stuff the Egg.
Round 17 Ch1, dc in next 3 dc, (dc2tog), dc in next 8 dc, (dc2tog), dc in next 5 dc, ss to beg dc. [18 dc]
Round 18 Ch1, (dc in next dc, dc2tog) 6 times, ss to beg dc. [12 dc]
Round 19 Ch1, (dc2tog) around, ss to beg dc. [6 dc]
Fasten off leaving a long tail. Weave tail through the loops of the last 6 sts and pull tight to close, leaving approx 15cm for the hanging loop. Weave in remaining tail.
Spotty Egg

Use Sunflower to make the Egg and all other colours to make the Spots.
To create a Spot, use a wool needle and make 3 vertical stitches over one dc stitch.
Striped Egg

Follow Egg pattern using colours as follows:
Rounds 1-5 Fondant.
Rounds 6-7 Sunflower.
Rounds 8-9 Soft Lime.
Rounds 10-11 Sky Blue.
Rounds 12-13 Lavender.
Rounds 14-19 Fondant.
Flower Egg

Use Sky Blue to make Egg.
Pink Flower (make 2)
Using Fondant, make a magic loop.
Round 1 Ch1, (dc, ch3) 6 times, ss to beg dc.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail approx 15cm. Use tail to sew Flower to Egg.
Yellow Flower (make 2)
Using Sunflower, make a magic loop.
Round 1 (RS) Ch1, 6dc into loop, ss to beg dc. [6 dc]
Rounds 2-3 Ch1, dc in each dc around, ss to beg dc.
Round 4 Ch2, tr in first dc, ch2, ss in same st, (ss in next st, ch2, tr in same st, ch2, ss in same st) 5 times. [6 petals]
Fasten off, leaving a long tail approx 15cm. Use tail to sew Flower to Egg.
Purple Flower (make 2)
Using Lavender, make a magic loop.
Round 1 (RS) (Ch3, ss to second ch from hook, ch1, ss into loop) 8 times.
Fasten off, leaving a long tail approx 15cm. Use tail to sew Flower to Egg.
Stalks
Using Soft Lime, chain stitch or surface crochet a stalk for each Flower, starting from the centre-base of the Egg. You can use the images as a guide.
