Spread the love by making a heart-themed knitting accessory for a crafting friend. This cute tape measure cover pattern by Kirstie McLeod first appeared as a knitting kit with issue 169 of Simply Knitting magazine. It requires small amounts of 4ply yarn so it's great for using up sock yarn leftovers and other oddments from your stash.

There are just three little pieces to knit, and the small size makes sewing up a doddle! If you need help following the chart, check out our guide on how to read charts in knitting patterns.

This little tape measure cover would be a fab quick-make present, or a relaxing knit for a quiet weekend at home. And when you've finished this, find more fun mini projects in our free knitting patterns collection.

Just the very thing my knitting kit’s been missing! A good tape measure is a handy tool to have to hand – especially a cute one.
