Is the secret to better sex written in the stars? Astrologers say your zodiac sign reveals more than just personality traits - it could also unlock your deepest sexual desires.
According to Joanne Jones, Founder of Trusted Psychics, your sign ‘shapes how you give and receive affection, what kind of intimacy makes you feel secure, and how strong your libido tends to be.’
This cosmic insight is influencing the dating world: Tinder reports that 40% of young users turn to ‘astrology love predictions’, while star signs have become the most-used filter on Bumble.

Claire Petulengro, leading astrologer, believes your star sign sheds light on every aspect of your dating life. Her book Love Stars, ‘a guide to creating harmony within relationships’, uses astrology to clarify your sexual needs, attractions, and compatibility.
What does astrology reveal about your sex life?
Aliza Kelly, celebrity astrology, author, and host of the podcast Horoscope Weekly says our birth chart offers ‘a very specific blueprint’ for our sexual desires: ‘Astrology describes energy: how it moves, expresses, and desires connection. Our sex lives are extensions of that energy.’
‘Each zodiac sign carries elemental and planetary influences that affect how we connect physically,’ explains TJ Higgs, spiritual medium and astrologer. ‘Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) tend to be passionate and spontaneous; Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) sensual and grounded; Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius) curious and mentally driven; and Water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) deeply emotional and intuitive.’
Data backs up the astrology: Lovehoney found that notoriously sensitive Cancers are their top sex toy customers, suggesting they favour self-pleasure over casual flings. Tinder reported that intense and determined Scorpios are the most active users on the app, while pickier Capricorns are more likely to swipe left.

Aries (21 March – 19 April) | ‘The Firestarter’
Courageous and bursting with energy, Aries are sexual go-getters who bring boldness to the bedroom. ‘They relish new relationships as an exciting adventure to be explored,’ Petulengro explains, noting that they are initially attracted to physical appearance and reputation.
As the ultimate fire sign, Aries love a spontaneous fling and aren’t afraid to take the lead. ‘Fast, fierce, and fuelled by adrenaline, Aries thrive on the chase,’ adds Jones. ‘They love passion that feels like a sprint, all-consuming in the moment, and unforgettable even if it doesn’t last forever.’
Taurus (20 April – 20 May) | ‘The Sensualist’
Incredibly passionate, patient, and indulgent, a Taurus’ love language is physical touch, and so they like to take their time during sex. Petulengro described them as ‘one of the greatest flirts of the zodiac’, and ‘dominant in lovemaking’, claiming they ‘show their feelings through actions not words.’
‘Ruled by Venus, Taurus turn intimacy into an art form,’ says Jones. ‘Think silk sheets, candlelight, and music that hums against the skin. They’re slow, deliberate, and determined to savour every second.’ They have a chilled-out vibe, and prioritise comfort, as well as pleasure, in every sexual experience.
Gemini (21 May – 20 June) | ‘The Curious’
The celestial twins bring a duality and cheeky playfulness to their sexual escapades. Naturally social, a Gemini looks for both engaging conversation and fun energy in a partner. Kelly says: ‘Curious, playful, and chatty. Mental stimulation is the real foreplay: talk dirty, share fantasies, keep things unpredictable.’
Thrill-seekers at heart, Geminis are open to experimentation and love to lose themselves in pleasure. ‘No one could ever accuse them of being shy or inhibited,’ notes Petulengro. ‘They ooze sex appeal and without any effort can seduce the sign of their choice.’
However, Petulengro warns that Geminis like to keep their options open, leaving a partner feeling ‘deflated with the coolness they exude’, so don’t be surprised when a mind-blowing hook-up leads nowhere.
Cancer (21 June – 22 July) | ‘The Lover’
Ruled by the moon, Cancerians have a strong emotional pull and crave chemistry over pure physical attraction. ‘Passion and love go hand in hand, and they hardly ever experience one without the other,’ explains Petulengro.
The crab needs a sense of security to feel aroused; with a libido that’s guided by emotions - favouring intoxicating love affairs over one-night stands.
‘Soft on the outside but intense underneath, they crave safety before surrender,’ says Jones. ‘Once they trust you, they offer heart, soul, and a level of intimacy that lingers long after.’
Be gentle with a Cancer - if you push them too far, they’ll retreat into their shell. ‘They are incredibly sensitive and if involved with a stronger sign can be easily made to feel hurt and inadequate,’ warns Petulengro. Get vulnerable to win them over, and once you do, expect pillow talk that goes on until the early hours of the morning.
Leo (23 July – 22 August) | ‘The Performer’
Charismatic and dramatic, a Leo needs to be admired to get in the mood, thriving off attention. ‘Sex and relationships are exciting to the lion,’ says Petulengro. ‘They don't leave much to the imagination!’ Never satisfied with second fiddle, they’ll reach for the ‘best you ever had’ like it’s a contest.
This doesn’t mean they’re selfish lovers; in fact, they work hard to get the glory and always want to impress their partners with their moves. Jones says: ‘Bold, passionate, and a little bit theatrical, Leos love to make their partner feel like the star of the show, but don’t forget to give them a standing ovation in return.’
Virgo (23 August – 22 September) | ‘The Attentive’
The perfectionists of the zodiac, Virgos are attentive, precise and service-oriented. Expect a refined night of pleasure, as they’re going to take the time to figure out how to blow your mind. ‘Virgo gets turned on by making you feel good: they’ll study your reactions like KPIs,’ says Kelly.
‘Virgos notice every detail: the way you breathe, the arch of your back, the subtle shiver when they get it right,’ echoes Jones, ‘for them, pleasure is precision.’
These high standards can mean they find it hard to let loose, so you might have to work overtime to get them out of their heads and into the moment. ‘On the surface Virgo can appear a prude, but still waters run deep,’ stresses Petulengro. ‘When they let themselves go, they can really shock with their intensity and lack of inhibition.’
Libra (23 September – 22 October) | ‘The Romantic’
Full of romance, Libras are pros at the art of seduction, savouring the chase and the anticipation almost as much as the main event. ‘The Libran sees sex as a great challenge and uses flattery and charm to get what they want,’ says Petulengro.
For Libras, foreplay is everything, so don’t rush - thoughtful romantic gestures are the key to unlocking their desire. ‘Libras bring balance, beauty, and a touch of cinematic flair,’ Jones explains. ‘Expect curated playlists, artful touches, and kisses that melt away the day.’
Their need for harmony, combined with a tendency to romanticise intimacy, means they can quickly go cold if a sexual experience doesn’t meet their high expectations.
Scorpio (23 October – 21 November) | ‘The Intense’
With an aura of mystery and intrigue, seducing a Scorpio can feel intimidating at first. But once you’ve peeled back their enigmatic bravado, sex with a Scorpio becomes an intensely empowering experience - where inhibitions are left at the door.
‘Magnetic, mysterious, and unafraid to dive deep, Scorpios turn intimacy into a transformative experience,’ says Jones. ‘Every touch feels like a secret you’ve been trusted to keep.’
‘Masterful lovers and a great seducer, they are passionate, affectionate and responsive,’ explains Petulengro. However, she also warns that this intensity can become a problem, leading to a need for constant reassurance: ‘Watch out that their insecurities do not get in the way. They are all too often looking for a problem that’s not there.’
Sagittarius (22 November – 21 December) | ‘The Adventurer’
Playful and curious, a typical Sagittarius goes all in on a sexual experience. Petulengro describes them as a generous and considerate lovers: ‘They can make you feel as if you’re the only one in the world.’
As a fire sign, they’re lively, thrill-seeking and full of restless energy, so a little spontaneity goes a long way - get frisky under the stars to satisfy their wild side.
‘Adventurous, free-spirited, and bold. They see sex as an experience — something to explore, laugh through, and learn from,’ says Kelly. However, an impulsivity can lead them to leap into bed without thinking through the consequences, making them susceptible to post-hook-up regret.
Capricorn (22 December – 19 January) | ‘The Power Player’
Capricorns like to take things slow, but once trust is earned, they reveal a smouldering lust and sensuality. ‘Sometimes appearing rather cold towards love, Capricorn needs the right partner to bring out their best and to feel fulfilled,’ explains Petulengro.
As an earth element, they’re grounded, dependable, and steady lovers who value substance over a quick thrill. ‘Controlled and confident, Capricorns know exactly what they want and exactly how to get it,’ says Jones. ‘They’re all about slow build-ups and luxurious rewards.’
With endless ambition, Capricorns are self-starters who aren’t afraid to go after what they want. Though they can seem stoic at first, once the ice is broken and they’ve got you in their sights, they’ll give one hundred percent.
Aquarius (20 January – 18 February) | ‘The Visionary’
Free-spirited and endlessly curious, Aquarius is ruled by Uranus – the planet of invention, and so they tend to think outside the box in the bedroom. ‘Self-assured and with strong sex appeal, Aquarius attracts partners with very little effort,’ says Petulengro. ‘Natural lovers, they like to explore and will need a fairly open-minded partner.’
Fiercely independent, Aquarians can be commitment-phobes, but that doesn’t mean they won’t throw themselves into a sexual experience. Kelly describes Aquarius as experimental and detached: ‘They crave novelty and connection that feels liberating rather than possessive.’
Pisces (19 February – 20 March) | ‘The Dreamer’
Sex with a Pisces can feel enchanting - their dreamy, intuitive nature blends fantasy with tenderness. ‘Romantic and intuitive, Pisces make intimacy feel like slipping into a shared daydream,’ explains Jones.
‘Every kiss, every glance carries a touch of magic.’ They also crave emotional connection, needing security and depth to be truly satisfied.
Gentle and highly sensitive, it can take a while for a Pisces to get comfortable with a lover. ‘Sex to them is a very private thing,’ says Petulengro. ‘Dirty jokes do not amuse them. Sweet talk always softens them, and they hate people who are too forward.’
