There's so many uses for this free crochet spider web pattern - use them as creepy coasters or doilies, use them as decorations or stick them in your window, or if you're feeling really creative you could even join a load of these motifs together to make a special Halloween shawl! To make your crochet cobweb super-realistic we recommend using some sparkly metallic yarn to get that shimmering effect!

You will need
- Anchor Artiste Metallic (80% Viscose, 20% metallized polyester, 25g/100m), 1 ball of Silver (301) - or alternative crochet thread weight yarn
- A 3mm (US C/2 or D/3) hook

Free crochet spider web pattern

Make a crochet magic loop.
Round 1 (RS) Ch1, 6dc into the loop, ss into the top of the first dc to join. [6 dc]
Round 2 Ch6 (counts as tr, ch3), (tr into next dc, ch3) 5 times, ss into the top of the beginning ch-3 to join. [6 tr, 6 ch-3 sp]
Round 3 Ss into first ch-3 sp, ch3 (counts as tr), 4tr into same ch-3 sp, *ch3, tr into the next ch-3 sp, ch3, 5tr into the next ch-3 sp; repeat from *, ch3, tr into the next ch-3 sp, ch3, ss into the top of the beginning ch-3 to join. [18 tr, 6 ch-3 sp]
Round 4 Ch4 (counts as tr, ch1), (tr into the next tr, ch1) 3 times, tr into the next tr, *ch4, tr into the next tr, ch4, (tr into next tr, ch1) 4 times, tr into the next tr; repeat from *, ch4, tr into the next tr, ch4, ss into the top of the beginning ch-3 to join. [18 tr, 6 ch-4 sp, 12 ch-1 sp]

Round 5 Ch5 (counts as tr, ch2), (tr into next tr, ch2) 3 times, tr into the next tr, *ch5, tr into the next tr, ch5, (tr into the next tr, ch2) 4 times, tr into the next tr; repeat from *, ch5, tr into the next tr, ch5, ss into the top of the beginning ch-3 to join. [18 tr, 6 ch-5 sp, 12 ch-2 sp]
Round 6 Ch6 (counts as tr, ch3), *(tr into the next tr, ch3) twice, ss into third ch from hook (picot made), (ch3, tr into the next tr) twice, ch6, tr into the next tr, ch3, ss into third ch from hook, ch6, tr into the next tr, ch3; repeat from *, (tr into the next tr, ch3) twice, ss into third ch from hook (picot made), ch3, tr into the next tr, ch3, tr into the next tr, ch6, tr into the next tr, ch3, ss into third ch from hook (picot made), ch6, ss into the top of the beginning ch-3 to join.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
You can easily join motifs while working Round 6, replacing the ch-3 in the picot marked on the chart with (ch1, ss to the corresponding ch-sp on the other motif, ch1).
