Say “happy Christmas” to someone special with a handmade card. Ours were designed by Helen Ardley for Knit Today magazine, and there are three motifs for you to choose from: a snowman, a tree and a trio of baubles.
Each one could be worked up in an evening, making them great for last-minute festive knitting. They’re a fun way to use up a few oddments of yarn from your stash, too. Attach beads and sequins for some extra sparkle, and add a festive message in felt-tip pen.
You will need:
Rowan, Cotton Glace (100% cotton, 50g/115m)
1 ball of each: Bleached (shade 726), Persimmon (shade 832), Poppy (shade 741), Ochre (shade 833), and Ivy (shade 812)
Oddments of yarn for the snowman’s nose, hat and scarf
A pair of 3mm knitting needles
Small black beads
Small gold beads
Small gold and multicoloured sequins
Small silver stars
Gold and red bugle beads
Fine red, brown and green felt tip pens
