What is needlepoint?
Needlepoint is is a surface embroidery technique used on fine canvas. Needlepoint differs from embroidery by the way that it is always done by hand whereas embroidery can also be done using a machine. Needlepoint is commonly created using yarn as opposed to embroidery floss.
The level of detail in the needlepoint depends on the count of the underlying mesh canvas, this is usually fine (so lots of detail). Needlepoint uses a blunt tip tapestry needle - these needles come in a variety of sizes. Check out our needle size guide for more information.
