Birthdays are always exciting, and none more than a child’s party. There are friends, games, food and fun to be had, not forgetting opening up your cards and presents. That’s why we asked designer Jenny Barton to come up with this cheery set of animal birthday cards. With mischievous monkeys and dog cross stitch patterns, there’s surely a card that’s ideal for the little person in your life!

Taking only a few hours, you’ll easily be able to rustle one up when the young recipients in bed! Using 14-count aida with a few fractionals, these are great for beginners looking to learn new techniques. In fact, there are only a few French knots in each design – just as flowers, not in the animals themselves, so if you need to leave these off you could! You could also personalise them, backstitching the birthday boy’s or girl’s name.

These cute monkey and dog cross stitch patterns are sure to make a big day a bit more special.
