Many of the how to guides you’ll find on this website are handmade personally by our team below. We’re the authority on where to find inspiring projects. It’s not just us though – we work with expert magazine teams who spend hour upon hour pouring over each chart, pattern and tutorial to make sure you can follow our instructions with ease.

Stuart Found – Senior Digital Editor

Stuart Found is the Senior Digital Editor for Gathered. He has extensive experience of SEO, previously working at B2B marketing agency Copy House and the Financial Times. Stuart is passionate about sharing ideas with narrative impact, whether in the craft space or in creative writing. He has written plays for the stage and is working on a series of fantasy novels. Stuart supports new writers develop their work for the stage, page and online on both a professional and voluntary basis.

Phoebe Burt

Phoebe Burt – SEO and Communities Editor

Phoebe has worked for Gathered, and our sister magazine Mollie Makes, for over 3 years. She manages our Arts & Crafts and commerce content. She specialises in social media and content strategy. She has a background in all things marketing, a flair for Pinterest and a knack for finding the next big craft trend. Previously she’s written for online music publications including Bristol in Stereo, Culture or Trash and Festival Mag so if you’re looking for a new band recommendation she’s the one to ask.

Sarah Orme

Sarah Orme – Digital Editor

Sarah Orme is a UK-based linocut printmaker, digital editor, feature writer and award-winning podcaster. She’s been editing the sewing and art sections of Gathered.how – and before that our sister website calmmoment.com – for over 3 years. She’s the host of Gathered’s We’ve Made It and The Calm Edit  podcasts. A keen crafter and artist, she enjoys designing her own unique lino prints and likes to paint and draw, finding art a great way to relax. She taught herself to crochet and enjoys nothing more than trying out a new cosy blanket pattern (you can never have too many blankets!).

Matt_Spiers

Matt Spiers – Digital Assistant

Matt Spiers is a crochet artist, designer and founding editor of Gathered.how – where he looks after our crochet section. He’s worked closely with  Simply Crochet magazine for 5 years and is a whiz with whipping up graphics in Photoshop or videos for the Gathered Makers YouTube channel. What started as a hobby a decade ago led to Matt developing a passion (and then a career) with crochet. Matt is a crochet artist in his own right – you can see his work at www.onemancrochet.com. He’s displayed and created crochet installations at festivals and fibre events across the UK.

Katie Dolan

Katie Dolan– Digital Assistant

Katie Dolan edits our needlework section – focusing on our embroidery and cross stitch articles, alongside filming and editing video tutorials for our Arts and Crafts section. Katie runs her jewellery business, Ophelia Jewellery Art, where she sells beautiful resin-pressed flower earrings. She has a wide range of craft interests including embroidery, and has recently completed a silversmith workshop and hopes to expand her jewellery business with these new skills. When she’s not crafting, she’s usually fuelling her Harry Potter addiction with a Sunday film marathon and a couple of butter beers!

Sarah Winsper – Digital Assistant

Sarah has been knitting for as long as she can remember, and spends her working days thinking about yarn as our knitting specialist. She works closely with Simply Knitting and The Knitter and knows what knitters want, as she is one herself! She’s also a knitting designer with a passion for making cosy accessories – you can check out her latest patterns on Ravelry. Sarah has more than 10 years’ experience in the publishing industry. When she’s not at work, you’ll usually find her snuggled up on the sofa with a cup of tea, a packet of biscuits and her latest craft project.
