Sophie Jordan

Sophie Jordan has been the Deputy Editor of Simply Knitting magazine for 4 years and an avid knitter for 42, having been taught by her hugely creative mum and later hugely inspired by top colourwork designer, Kaffe Fassett. Passionate about all crafts, you can often find her sewing, crocheting and embroidering in her spare time too. Having started her career in the cross-stitching arena, working on The World of Cross Stitching and Cross Stitcher magazines, Sophie’s career took a positive turn into the heady yet hugely creative hair and beauty industry, working on Your Hair, Hair Ideas and Blonde Hair magazines as Commissioning Editor for over 10 years. But the lure of craft, and knitting in particular, was too great and she returned to work on Knit Today magazine in 2016, moving onto Simply Knitting in 2017. Now a confident knit designer as well as editor, Sophie has designed for Simply Knitting, The Knitter magazines and yarn brand Scheepjes, and produces a number of private commissions over the year.
