“I started the hashtag #crochetgirlgang to promote solidarity in the, mainly female, crochet community,” explains Emma. “We want to showcase talent on a daily basis where you don't have to have a massive following to get featured. It also aims to make people feel that they can create in a comfortable space and be celebrated for it without judgement.”

Crochet teacher at Knit With Attitude Sanna King explains, “Corner to corner crochet is a really satisfying way to tackle blankets by starting in one corner and making diagonal zigzags increasing and then decreasing to create squares or shapes. "You can take the best photographs but unless you use hashtags well, they’ll never be seen. Similarly, great hashtags will make no difference if your photographs aren't appealing" advises Joanne. "Really focus on who you want to see your photos and your niche. I design and make wearable items so I also use #handmadewardrobe and #slowfashion tags too.”
