Step 1

Cut a piece of stiff card to 9x7cm (3½x2¾in). Wrap with your chosen backing fabric and glue in place on the back. Allow to dry.

Step 2

Back your stitching with medium-weight iron-on interfacing. Fold the top edge of your stitching over and stitch in place to create a hem.

Step 3

Position your stitching part way down your cardboard and fold the side and bottom edges around to the back and glue in place. Use a clip or weight to hold this in place whilst you allow it to dry.

Step 4

Add a length of ribbon along your top edge to create a loop for hanging. Glue these ends into position.

Step 5

Glue a panel of patterned paper, measuring 9x7cm (3½x2¾in) to the back. This will help to tidy the back and to reinforce the ends of the ribbon and the stitching.
