We were lucky enough to spend a few days at the show (the quilts! the fabrics! our extended quilting family!). We’ve included a few of our favourite quilts here for you…
Lou Orth rocking the Half Square Triangles + ombre colour combo!
We have so much love for so many elements of this design by Lisa Hofmann-Maurer. All the curves!
Paula Steel’s rich, muted tones and mid-Century vibes.
Irish quilter Mary Palmer scooped the winning Modern Quilt award with bold stripes of colour and quilted lettering.
Alexandra Kingswell’s exhibition (above and main image) was a masterclass in the light and tonal effects you can achieve by patchwork fabric choices!
We got to browse the shopping stands too and stumbled upon the Great British Quilter collaborative quilt on the Aurifil stand. This design shows off Aurifil’s brand new matching thread collection from Sarah Ashford Studio, Charlie Mankin and a collection of our favourite designers!
Naomi Clarke’s Mini Tula Flowers was one of the many awesome miniature quilts that we marvelled at.
Oh how we love this grey + geo stars combo in Rebecca Bell’s ‘Do you See Me Now?’ quilt.
Charlie Mankin’s ‘Curled’ – inspired by Franco Grignani’s design to show how much movement you can achieve in a quilt!
Jo Avery and Tatyana Duffie go bold and bright with ultra Pickle Dish quilt blocks.

Louisa Goult used hand piecing, appliqué and quilting to create her show-stopping Rainbow Rings quilt.
The competition quilts were something else as always but can we take a moment to shout out to this year’s mini quilts that graced the competition aisles? Reminding visitors not to touch the quilts in different languages, each mini quilt had a different design – they were too cute!
