Alan Carr sparks debate with his Interior Design Masters confession—would you dare try this?

Alan Carr has a bold design idea, and it might just divide the nation. On the latest series of Interior Design Masters, the comedian reveals his love for retro bathrooms—declaring that avocado suites should make a comeback! And if that wasn’t enough, he’s also got a soft spot for hot pink, 70s-style bathrooms. Is it time to embrace the bold and bring back the vintage vibes?

Alan Carr sparks debate with his Interior Design Masters confession—would you dare try this?

That's right, Alan Carr is demanding the return of avocado green and hot pink in our homes. We sat down with Alan Carr to discuss the latest series of Interior Design Masters and instead stumbled upon his love for 1970s decor. Alan revealed:

"I think avocado bathrooms should come back. And do you know what I don’t see anymore, those things round the toilet… pedestal mats! You don’t see them anymore! Probably for good reason. But I think they should come back. Very hygienic!'

He might just be on to something here. DIY retailer Wickes recently published a shocking statistic which said around 30% of 18-34-year-old homeowners would pick an avocado green bathroom!

Despite being an advocate for the avocado, Alan actually has another rather unusual colour gracing his bathroom walls.

"My bathroom upstairs is 70s pink and I'm very proud of it. I think the bathroom is a place for fun, and if you're going to take a risk, do it in the bathroom!

And people like avocado smashed on toast, so why don’t you have your sink made from it, or your bidet?! People are going to think my bathroom is disgusting now but it’s a hot pink and I love it."

Always a fashion icon, Alan Carr may just become our new interior icon too. We love green and pink as a colour combination. It's bold, bright and most importantly, fun. The perfect combination for injecting your home with a little of that Alan Carr fabulousness.

But it's not just 70's colour schemes that make Alan's home stand out. His quirky style is reflected throughout his home, most notably in the form of his fibreglass cow. He told us:

"I think you do grow to love those quirky things though. Like my cow. I put it up on the kitchen wall and I like it now. It's nice when I get up in the morning. I’ll have a cup of tea and I’ll say hello to the cow!

Sometimes, it’s good to push things. I know people will come to my house and go, ‘Ooh, that’s a bit different’, but variety is the spice of life."
