Shaped cards: How to make a shirt card

For the men in your life, we can’t think of a better card to give a fan of golf than this funky shirt card. Download the free shirt card template and embellish as you wish, but if you need some inspiration, in this post we show you how to use your shirt card template to make this fab shirt and tie card.

You can really go to town with your favourite papers and embellishments to perfectly theme your look. For the bow tie on the card, simply trim down the bow until it fits neatly under the shirt collar for a truly sporting look!

We're using the Hunkydory Tied With A Bow Moonstone die set to create the bows for this make, but if you don't have this die set to hand, why not go ahead and create your own? Shaped card: Shirt

You will need:

  • Plain card (for the base)
  • Patterned paper (for the t-shirt fabric)
  • Fine liner (black for faux stitching)
  • Dies (bow shaped for the bow tie)

Step 1

Print or trace the shirt card template onto some white card.

Cut around the shirt, including the neckline. Score the dotted line and fold to make the base card. Cover the front of the base card with star paper.

Step 2

Cut out the tank top template, and draw around it onto yellow patterned paper. Cut out and add faux stitching using a black fine liner pen. Stick to the front of the base card, as shown.

Step 3

Die cut a yellow bow and trim into a bow tie. Cut out the collar from the template and stick in place, along with the bow tie. Add the heart sentiment and faux stitching around the collar.
