You will need
- Stylecraft, Special DK yarn (100% acrylic, 100g/295m), or alternative DK yarn:
- Yarn A Aspen (1422)
- Yarn B Spring Green (1316)
- Yarn C Shrimp (1132)
- Yarn D Saffron (1081)
- A pair of 3¾mm needles
Tension
Yarn used knits as DK to this tension: 25 sts and 48 rows to measure 10x10cm (4x4in) over pattern using 3¾mm needles

Notes
Worked from the opening down, the glasses case has a rib stitch opening which will hold your glasses more securely at the opening of the case. The body of the DIY glasses case is made up of repeats of a 4 row stitch pattern which uses slipped stitches to give a lovely textured finish to your DIY glasses case. Free glasses case knitting pattern
Cast on 41 sts using 3¾mm needles and Yarn A.
Row 1 Purl.
Row 2 P1, (K1, P1) to end of row.
Row 3 K1, (P1, K1) to end of row.
Rep rows 2 & 3 twice.
Stripe pattern
- Yarn B – 4 rows.
- Yarn C – 4 rows.
- Yarn D – 4 rows.
- Yarn C – 4 rows.
- Yarn B – 4 rows.
- Yarn A – 4 rows.
- Yarn B – 4 rows.
- Yarn C – 4 rows.
- Yarn D – 4 rows.
- Yarn C – 4 rows.
- Yarn B – 4 rows.
- Yarn A – 4 rows.
- Yarn B – 4 rows.
- Yarn C – 4 rows.
- Yarn D – 4 rows.
- Yarn C – 4 rows.
Stitch pattern
Change yarn colour.
Row 1 Knit.
Row 2 Knit.
Row 3 K1, (sl1, K1) to end of row.
Row 4 P1, (wyif sl1, P1) to end of row.
Change yarn colour.
Row 5 Knit.
Row 6 Knit.
Row 7 K2, (sl1, K1) to last st, K1.
Row 8 P2, (wyif sl1, P1) to last st, P1.
Repeat the stitch pattern 8 times in total, using the stripe pattern for colour changes.
Cast off.
To make up your DIY glasses case
With right sides facing, sew together the side and base seams. Turn the right way out. Weave in all loose ends.
