Catch up on the first episode of the Great British Sewing Bee and join Sarah and Zoe for a chat about the return of our favourite sewing TV show. In this unofficial bonus podcast, we'll share tips for how to make some of the outfits seen on screen and chat about which contestants we think might be in the final. There are a few spoilers in this episode, so please don't tune in unless you've already watched the first episode of the new series!

We loved the start of the new series and are very excited about the new batch of sewers. Is it just us or is the standard this year higher than ever? Who is your favourite to win?

You can find the podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Acast or wherever you get your podcasts. Alternatively, you can use the player below to listen to the episode online.

Projects of the week

This week, Sarah's bringing a retro vibe to her life with the DIY screen printing tea towels project created by Jane Foster for MollieMakes. It's a cheerful, 60s-inspired design that's a great way to get into linoprinting.

Zoe returns to one of her favourite crafts and is feeling inspired by these very cool quilted cactus cushions, which are made using English paper piecing techniques.

One good thing

Zoe is understandably obsessed with the BBC series Line of Duty, so she's clearly the intended audience for the podcast Obsessed With Line of Duty. It's hosted by one of the actors who appeared in a previous series of the show and it's a popular fan podcast. It's available wherever you get your podcasts.

Sarah's good thing this week is that she's getting a kitten! She's always been fond of cats, so she's delighted to be finally getting one of her own. No name yet – but watch this space.
