Step 1

How to make a ring holder out of clay step5
Take a small ball of clay and roll it between your hands to create a cone shape. Use your fingers to mould the clay into the shape shown above, and make sure to give the cone a flat base so it’ll stand upright. The cone should roughly be 8cm (3 1/8") high, and the base 2cm (3/4") wide. This is your new clay ring holder!

Step 2

Leave it to dry out completely.

Step 3

Once dry, lightly sand down the clay ring holder. Gently sand the cone’s sides and base to achieve a smooth, flat surface.

Step 4

Once dry, carefully and slowly remove the washi tape from the clay ring holder. If necessary, touch up any areas of paint that have come away, and leave to dry. Add gloss varnish to both the cone to seal the paint and make it more hardwearing, then leave to dry thoroughly before using.
