Free amigurumi snake crochet pattern
Ophiuchus is a slithery new addition to the Zodiac calendar and he's our inspiration for this free amigurumi snake crochet pattern – hooks at the ready!

Meet Ophiuchus, the informal 13th member of the zodiac! In case you missed the news, if you were born between 29 November and 17 December, Ophiuchus the Serpent Bearer aligns with the sun on your birthday. Strictly a constellation rather than a sign, Ophiuchus’ characteristics are rooted in healing (with serpent’s venom), education and high achiever status, represented by a regal yet approachable snake in this exclusive, online-only and free crochet snake pattern brought to you by Simply Crochet. You can find the free snake amigurumi pattern below.
This amigurumi snake crochet pattern was designed by the talented amigurumi designer Khuc Cay to help celebrate the Simply Crochet 2021 Zodiac Calendar. The calendar features adorable animal interpretations of the 12 star signs that rule the zodiac houses in the astrological calendar to see you through the celestial year.
And don't forget to check your hooky horoscope for 2021 yarny predictions. Whether you’re a gentle Gemini or an independent Aquarius, you can create your own cute star sign character, and why not make family and friends theirs too? If you missed our 2021 calendar, you can still download issue 104 of Simply Crochet as a digital issue which includes the calendar and all the patterns, and you can also find it on Ravelry.

Notes
This amigurumi snake crochet pattern is worked in the amigurumi style unless otherwise stated. Work stitches in a continuous spiral without closing off each round with a slip stitch. You may find it helpful to mark the first stitch of the round, moving the marker up as you go.
The crochet snake is worked from the Head down. A space is left towards the end of the Head which the Body is worked off from. The Tail is worked in the same way, with a space being left towards the end of the Body.
